Selected as one of the top 12 high school creative writing programs in the country by Web del Sol, the world's largest nonprofit publisher of periodicals, The Student Publishing Program (SPP) is a free program which uses a professional writer workshop to give students of all backgrounds and learning levels the skills and confidence needed to publish to a wider audience, and then publishes and promotes their compositions - one piece of poetry or prose from every student in the grade - in a network of online literary magazines and a series of paperback books available in bookstores nationwide, with 100 percent of the author royalties going back to each school. In addition to its academic, personal and community-building benefits, the Student Publishing Program will provide more money for America's schools than any other private or corporate donor in history - every single year - as early as its third year in development as a national program.

SPP has secured written participation interest from over 200 schools nationwide, developed a groundbreaking workshop without which 95 percent of the 400+ students comprising a full class would not allow their writing to be published and promoted locally and nationally, and we've developed a groundbreaking submission site, without which teachers would not have the expertise and time to receive, track, approve, format and design 400+ student submissions from different programs and platforms into an online magazine and a book manuscript file at a PoD-publisher's specs.

We've received recognition for program initiatives from hundreds of the world's most pervasive media venues, including Parade magazine, MTV, America Online, CNN, MSNBC, BET, Simon & Schuster, USA Today, US News & World Report, The New York Times, NPR affiliates and Planet Report, subscribed to by over half of all high schools in the U.S.
