Warriorz

Does being a warrior mean being MEAN?

If you are a warrior, do u always need

to BEAM?

like a sunlight in a morning SKY,

waking up at 5:30 for a metco bus,

watching the concord bus fly BY.

At 6:36, a big yellow bus stops right in front of

ME, and guess what I SEE,

tired, angry and grumpy faces

turn and stare at ME.

I feel like a little PEA

waiting for someone to say hi to me like

me friend T-T.

as soon as my foot steps in the BUS,

I feel a RUSH, in my HEAD

like the warriorz DID

back in the 60’S

buses come taken out of the CITY,

goin’ to a place where I feel like

I shouldn’t BE,

that’s when the warrior comes out of ME.

The warrior, she stands her GROUND, all

AROUND, like she’s

wearing the biggest CROWN.

even though she FROWNS,

the only reason WHY is because

she feels like if she slips she will DIE.

Die of the HATERS, RAIDERS,

and wanna be PLAYERS,

acting like they MADE her.

she’s no one else, but

her OWN,

people running in the halls

to her like she owes them LOANS.

I mean what’s so great about METCO,

sometimes she feels like she just wants to

LET GO,

of the morning WAKE UP’S,

friendship BREAK UP’S,

and stayin’ after school late to

do MAKE UP’S.

I mean so LATE she ain’t

even gettin’ a BREAK.

Gettin’ home at 6 or 7:30,

moms yellin “LORD OF MERCY”,

sayin that like a man named PERCY,

who’s tryin’ to get MONEY for his lovely

HONEY but, too poor so he has to do dirty

MONEY.

In metco life is like GUNZ and ROSEZ,

you see so much friends who becomes then FOSEZ.

In order to have joy, you

need PAIN, one day feelin’ like a CHAIN,

then the RAIN.

first stuck, then FREED like the

main thing in your life you’ll NEED.

Good EDUCATION but, a lot of DICTATION

of what to be, where to go, how to FEEL,

too much that a lot of people

now aren’t even REAL.

I’m a masked warrior, a fierce DIVIDER,

not a free RIDER, like a SNIPER.

Suburban kids to me are like GUARDS,

have big YARDS, and want expensive CARS,

makin’ me feel like I’m from a different

planet like MARS. A true warrior

don’t start the wars, but

finish them.
