Damn the Corporations
What happened to Main St? The corner drugstore? The local coffee shop? The Boston Gaaden? Now it’s all Chain Outlets, CVS, Starbucks, And the Fleet Center. What’s this in my assignment book? Oh, it’s on every page. Historical locations are now commercial hot-spots. They put their names on giant signs, Then over doors, Then in windows, Now all over our clothes. To them behind their desks and their $500 suits, What can’t be a billboard, an advertisement? What next, will they pave the streets with their ads? They work kids for 14 hours, Stink up the air, which is all ours, And cover it up with a nice logo, distracting everyone on the road. Who wants to live in a world riddled with corporate ads? Whose gonna strip them of their flashy disguises, and show us what a disgrace these executives and businesses really are?
