Me

Someone once told me “Sailors make

their own journeyings, but not their own map; they may not paint

their own horizons on the cabin ceiling; they

must obey the

stars and magnetism-out-of-sight, or the ocean lanes become shambles.”

At first, I did not understand, and I probably never

will, but as time progresses, this simple quote becomes more and

more a part of me.

My hero is #77, Ray Bourque, the best defenseman to

ever live.

Every day, every moment, is a time to learn, and if you don’t

seize every opportunity

that you have, you are never

going to get anywhere. Freedom, an amazing gift that this

country has given us. “Practice makes perfect.” I have two homes,

one here and one in South Africa. It’s funny because when I’m here I think of

South Africa as being my home, and when I’m in South Africa I think

of Lexington as being my home.

“Make it a commitment, it’s all about commitment.”

Winter, my favorite season. During spring, summer, and fall I feel hopeless

and lost. As soon as I hear the whispers

of the tiny snowflakes falling, my faith is renewed. I

love the sound of silence as the world is covered in a blanket

of white. The heavens open without a sound and shower their graces

upon us. “A smile brightens a cloudy day.”

Hi, Hello, Hey, Howdy, Hola, Aloha, Bonjour, there are so many ways to say

the same thing. I eat, sleep, breathe, and live,

Ice Hockey.

My family is a Hockey family.

My favorite professional hockey teams are the Colorado Avalanche and

the Boston Bruins. There’s good news and there’s bad news.

You Gotta See This! You make the choices;

no one can force you to do anything. “A painting is a poem without words.” When I

first moved here I was asked unbelievable questions such

as, “Do you have monkeys

in your backyard?” and “Why aren’t you black?” Have you ever turned

on the news and heard nothing but good news? 24/7, 365 days a

year. You may belong to a generation of great souls one

day, and it only takes a group of people to

CHANGE THE WORLD.
